Residency.
The core activity of ILLU Science & Art is the art and science residency programme, with two to three artists and scientists in residence.
Each resident is expected to contribute to the local community of Ilulissat and facilitate one or more workshops in collaboration with ILLU. These workshops will be open to the public during or towards the end of each residency period.
Priority will be given to artists from Greenland and Nunavut who can apply for a stipend to stay and work in ILLU for periods of one to three months. We will also accommodate scientists and artists from outside these two regions if they adhere to the ethical guidelines set by ILLU and the national research strategy of Greenland.
Please note that travel costs and accommodation at ILLU must be covered using your own funds. We can offer a letter of intent that you can use to apply for additional funding.
To apply for residence at ILLU, please fill in the form here. We prioritise stays of a minimum duration of one month, and both scientists and artists are invited to apply for residency periods ranging from one to three months.
We offer two distinct residency bedrooms: a cosy, single-person small room, a larger room accommodating one to two individuals, and a third room located in the loft with two alcoves, each containing one bed.
Residents share common facilities, including two bathrooms, a kitchen, and a workspace. These facilities are designed with simple, standard amenities to create a comfortable and collaborative living experience.
